Here Raya takes the shot, behind is Luis (blue shirt) and Daniel with a hat. Luis is THE MAN, he is incombustible working on setting the new roof. Here they work on making the sides for the coming second floor door, we would need the dintel on top of it before setting the roof on.

Pilars are already set on their foot-stones and the blue packages is the thermal insulation for the roof, waiting to be placed.

Me at bottom, serving mortar to Luis on top. Don´t miss the "scafolding" he is standing on.

The seat for the top beam is being prepared. And the crane-truck swings the beam into place.

This guy is incredible, not just restless but also fearless. It is almolst 30 feet to the botoom floor.

Top beam in place, door finish except for the dintel, also water tank with fresh water from the creek above (white tank). The beams that Luis is sitting on are bound to be placed on top of the pilars seen above and will run wall to wall holding the first floor.

The slab-La placa

These pics are quite self-explanatory, we did a straight pour and plan on leveling more accurately when we lay the definitive flooring. The actions were, after lowering the floor, to roughly level it with gravel and make a box for the pilars and chimmeny that go in the center (notice the air intake tube for it from the outside) and another for the sanitary in and out (closer to the wall), set the thermal insulation, then the moisture barrier (black plastic) then came the iron mesh and then the pour. The guys making it were from Moldavia and gave me some trouble since they showed up for the job with nothing less than five hours delay, so we reset the labor expenses to half (€300). This job took one afternoon/evening and one morning. Witnessing the concrete truck and pump (two trucks) extend the huge arm over the walls and pour eight cubic meters of stuff in a matter of minutes was priceless.
Final GT about €2,000
